in light of recent events.? not sure..
this is one of the most stupid things i have read, the child isn't a terrorist, nor should she have been suspended, some of the language used is absurd.
no one should be fired, but they should seriously look at themselves in the mirror and wonder quite what they were thinking.
she's "the least terroristic person in Pennsylvania."

suggest someone needs a reality check.
"in light of recent events"

Oh yeah, all those recent massacres carried out by five-year-olds with bubble guns.
roj...kids of any age need to be aware of guns and what they do...not desensitized by way of games and play as to their true worth...a talk from someone to whole class of kids would be better..
Oh for goodness' sake.... kids say these things, they don't even understand it. I feel sorry for the little girl. (Why do they sell bubble guns then... )
murray, that's not in response to you ^ - I don't agree with gun play anyway, but you can make a bubble machine that doesn't look like a pistol.
agree...I absolutely believe a lot of violent crime and killing is because kids grow up playingviolent games particularly ps x box etc and life to them becomes cheap
Don't suppose anyone remembers playing Cowboys & Indians.
I do indeed, NoM - and I remember at a small age beleiving that if you chopped your arm off, it would be all right. Little people don't understand - at that point - the difference between play and reality.
Another sad aspect of the US Gun Culture , why make a bubble toy look like a gun ? Kids pick up the language and actions of the adults around them , the child must have heard talk of guns and shooting people and is then gien her own toy gun , what do they expect ? It is the adults who should learn from this the child is innocent.
Arrant nonsense; perhaps not sacked, but given a good "talking to".

Naomi, you can be my Indian squaw any day.
murray, I do agree with you about the X-box thing - especially since most of these seem to be played in isolation. Getting fired up about zapping people is not my idea of fun.
Duncer, ha ha! I'm tempted to say 'How' - but I won't.
So I should skip the eggs for breakfast joke involving Indians then?
LOL @ naomi...
there have also been cases where kids finds parent`s gun and play shoot siblings friends etc in reality killing them..
Unfortunately, toy guns have been a part of American culture for generations-I never had one,but plenty of kids did-mostly boys. It still exists, and to give a child a toy that looks like a gun is to expect/assume that that child will play with it in a gun-like manner. To then punish the child for doing so is pure stupidity. Just get rid of toys that bear any resemblence to weapons-whether gun, knives etc. They have no place in childhood. Kids are good enough at make-believe and play-fighting without them.
well said pasta !
people are hiring lawyers because a girl was suspended from kindergarten for two days??

Reality check needed indeed...
