Interpreting

I love languages and have just completed GCSEs in french and german. I am planing to take french and german at a level too. I think in the future i would like to be an interpreter but im not sure what qualifications i need or really what the job entails! can anyone give me some details of the job?

I had a look on google and found this website http://world.std.com/~ric/what_is_int.html it hasn't got a huge amount of information but it might be some help. If you go to connexions they could probably tell you more about the job and the qualifications needed.
