Help become A WEB DESIGNER

I want to become a web designer, so i went to college and i have just passed my first exam, the problems is i have no experiance, all my other jobs have been phyiscal, can anyone sugguest anything .

Not sure if it helps but if u know how to design websites then cant u design one for yourself or friends or something, then u can build up a portfolio of sites u have helped design and produce that are easily checkable by any future employees then

that's what people generally do - get creating, why not offer you skills to a local charity or a college event - that way you have a topic to design around, and it would help to have a good reference.

I agree with the other two suggestions. do as much as you can of you own stuff in your spare time to build up a portfolio and gain experience, then when you are ready start sending your CV off to companies, they will want to see some examples of your ability. Most companies will employ web designers for their abilities, not what is written down on paper so make sure you get loads of practice.
