the company i work for has placed us under threat of redundancy, and has started the process of consultation. here's the catch, i am off sick with a hand injury, done at work. can they terminate my employment or do they have to wait until i am ready to report back to work? bearing in mind that they are shutting my depot down in a couple of weeks.

While you're off sick with a bad hand, you are still well enough to go into the office and attend any information meetings about the process. Why not contact your HR department to find out when these are taking place and let them know you will be attending. The more information you can get at this stage the better you will feel.
to update you all, we are all being made redundant in two weeks. the point was that i was told that the process could not continue while i am considered not fit for work. having near lost a finger due to certain factors at work which i am seeking further advice for, i feel very bitter at the way i've been treated.
getting in touch with acas seems my only option now. thanks to you all for your input
