Law application

i am doing law applications and have come across the question 'which character in a book you have read do you identify with and why?' any suggestions excpet for emma/hermione would be much appreciated...looking for someone ambitious, determined, that kind of thing!

What about Atticus Finch - To Kill A Mockingbird?

He was a tenacious kinda guy, someone who held firm to his beliefs and who believed in the rule of law??? just a thought... good luck x

Asking people for ideas defeats the object. This question is being asked not because they want you to impress them with an unusual answer, but because they want to be wowed by the power of your argument.

They won't care if it's little miss naughty - they are looking for someone who can list attributes clearly and concisely and then give reasons for those choices. It is part of the skillset for a lawyer.

Choose a character from a book you've read or re-read recently. Concentrate first on listing things you admire about the character, and then fill in the WHY you admire that quality. Be prepared for some awkward questions if you get to interview - they will want to see if you can think on your feet.  

If they have given you a maximum word count for this (if it's a written question) then make sure you don't exceed that.

Quick, read 'A Tale of Two Cities' and become Sydney Carton. You may have read it, if not, SC is a young lawyer, a dissolute rake, but who eventually rises above his condition all for the love of a woman and goes to the guillotine in place of her husband whom he extraordinarily resembles. Spoiled the story now, but you might need an idea fast. Read it anyway if you haven't.

I don't think you can go wrong with Lady Macbeth. She knows what she wants, gets it and lives to regret it. OK, so the endings not great but hey, what a ride!

I am doing law applications myself, they are so time consuming. My application form resembles the greatest work of fiction since Lord of the Rings! Why don't you try Mitch McDeere from the John Grisham novel "The Firm". He is ambitous, determined and ultimately loves to practice law. If you havent read the book, watch the Tom Cruise film.
