T.v. Screen

Hi not sure where to put this question, so came here :)
Had an old tv and used to get very annoyed when writing along bottom of screen use to be missing from the edges so decided to get myself a new widescreen tv.
So you can imagine I was rather p****d off when the same thing happened with the new tv ! Even with all the different settings you can have the writing still does not fit ! Can anyone enlighten me as to why that is?

For sure there will be controls on both the TV and any input box also.
Have the same issue myself on occasion, but in my case text disappears off the left. Most of the time I just ignore it. Probably just a shopping channel anyway.

Anyway, that apart I wish to comment, politelfully I hope, on your posting.
I have a Panasonic Wide Screen TV and, whilst I can pre-set the picture size, I put it onto 'Automatic' so that it self-adjusts as and when it is necessary'.
