If a 17 year old 6 former takes a holiday without permission is she liable to be fined. She has officially left school. Thanks

Penalty notices can only be issued to parents in respect of unauthorised absence from school of compulsory school age. So the short answer to your question is 'No'.

However schools, sixth form colleges and further education colleges normally have their own disciplinary codes which could, for example, result in a 'final warning' for failing to attend classes. Any further disciplinary offence could then result in the student being required to leave the school or college.
