The last date of the school year is usually around 30th June, after that date if they are 16 they can take paid employment using a national insurance number. Before that they come under the employment of under 16s law and are restricted in hours due to being in full time school.

He is now attending training courses etc away from school (although under the schools supervision); which finds work experience and aides in various different courses and CV creation etc. I was just wondering if he was able to apply for a Christmas job despite being 15 at the moment.
he can only work limited hours, if anyone will legitimately employ him, most high street stores won't, what about a family member finding him some hours on a casual basis, in a small shop maybe or a market stall. maybe a farm shop?
Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who owns any of these businesses DJ. We'll have a look out at our local shops that might be looking for evening counter staff or something. Thanks for your suggestions.
