Income tax and two jobs!
5 Answers
My friend has been offered a second job but wants to stay doing a few hours a week at her present job. Does anybody know how she will have to pay tax? All in all her total hours will be 37 - 40 hrs per week which is the same as one full time job, but normally second jobs you have to pay emergency tax on? Does anyone know where she stands on this or any sites i can look at for her? thanks in advance

Didwot, does that mean that you just keep the same tax free allowance and aren't really any worse of by having a 2nd job?
If your tax code is 444L then across the 2 jobs you still have 4440 tax free?
I'd always thought that you lost out somehow.
In my current job I'd earn a better hourly rate for anything over 35 or so hours.
If I had 2 jobs would I end up with the equivalent of pay at single time for all hours worked and not *really* be worse off in any other way?
