Nursing Home Taking Soiled Clothes To A Laundrette.

I work for a small Nursing Home. Quite a while ago we had no laundry service and used a local laundrette. Some of the clothes were soiled.
My question is did we as an organisation break any laws?

did you use a special 'washing bag' to wash the soiled items in ? If so and they are washed at a high enough temperature the risk to public is minimal IF you used a special laundry bag for this purpose.

My guess would be no because laundry from a nursing home would not necessarily be more soiled than laundry from a house with babies and young children or incontinent invalids.
Though nursing homes may have different rules.

I recall people without washing machines in the sixties taking nappies to the launderette.....☺

The soiled linen was taken in bags but because they was no one there they opened them and put the soiled linen in the machine.
