It's certainly not an easy job, being a teaching passenger in a car driven by a novice. You'd probably be self-employed so your income could be very unstable at first.
Check out the cost of car insurance for driving instructors and the cost of the car - it would have to be reasonably new and adapted.
Divide all those costs to determine how much it would cost each week then divide that into 40 hours to get an idea of how much it will cost you to teach people to drive.
Bear in mind that learner drivers will be very heavy on fuel and gearboxes, so you'll need to take the cost of the fuel, tyres and maintenance in to account too.
Remember you'll also spend a lot of time on the road not earning - driving from one pupil to the next.
See how much other instructors in your area charge for driving lessons. You can't rely on being paid for 40 hours instruction a week.
Looking at bare facts and figures can help you decide if it's worth pursuing.

Training to be a driving instructor is hard and expensive. It is in 3 parts.
Part 1 tests your knowledge and is followed by a hazard perception test. It is stricter than a part 1 test taken by learner drivers.
Part 2 is a driving test which if a much higher standard than taken by learner drivers
Part 3 is a test on your ability to teach.
The pass rate for part 3 is very low, less than 25%.
You are allowed 3 attempts to pass parts 1, 2 and 3. If you fail, you have to start the lot again from scratch.
If you DO pass part 3 you are graded. If your grade is not great, customers will look for a better driving instructor
