I hope you recorded your accident in the accident book at work. Sounds to me like your employer is trying to pull a fast one. An accident at work can leave them open to compensation claims, if they get really really awkward it might be worth reminding them of this.

I'm by no means a fan of our so called compensation culture but sometimes employers need a gentle reminder of their responsibilities towards health and safety at work!

Sticking to the more pressing matter of statutory sick pay - the answers can be found through the link above.

nfn makes a good point.  I too HATE the compensation culture, but reminding employers, only if all reasonable methods fail could be worth it.

Holiday pay entitlement details can be found here

I don't mean to sound rude at all, but I found this information using google.  Most simple legal questions can be answered by websites found after a simple google search.  Just look out for reliable websites, like .gov.uk or Citizens Advice Bureau.

I hope your foot gets better soon! :-)

PS - If you earn 5/hr or more, and had 4 days off, it looks like you're entitled to sick pay.

Just remember to be polite about it and don't threaten legal action until you have to!  One step, if things get tense, is to mention that you've taken legal advice on the matter.  :-)
