Little Ms Bazile has been offered a place at university - now confirmed , following her A level results .

However , she does not want to do the course any longer , or even that she wants to go to university .

She can apply to defer the place untill next year , but she has to give the university a reason in writing

What form of words would you suggest she puts in her submission to the university , to stand a good chance of them keeping the offer open ( it may be that she will decide to do the particular course afterall ) untill next year ; while she take the year out to consider her future , and what's best for herself ?

Dear (whoever)
I am very grateful for your offer of a place on X course starting this September, following my gaining sufficient points at A-level. Regrettably a change in my family circumstances will prevent me from attending and giving my full attention to this course in the forthcoming academic year. I would like to ask if my place can be deferred until the start of academic year 2015-16. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yours sincerely

Oh I did this in 1968

tell them - she should tell them that she doesnt feel mature enough to go to university, and feels that she will get more out of the course if she waits for a year - what is she gonna do - job ?
