Im having trouble deciding what to do for my A Levels as I have to drop one subject and I don't know which one to get rid of.
Currently I do History, English Literature, French and Art and Design. I got all A's for my AS levels except French which I got a B in. This should make the decision easy but i'm still not sure.
Is Art and Design a credible subject? I would prefer to do this subject over the others as it is relaxed (no revision, etc) and I enjoy it, however I'm not sure whether it is generally regarded as a bit of a nothing subject by universities.
I'm hoping to do something like History or Archaeology although I'm still undecided about that aswell and i want to know whether one subject would be best to drop for this but would still leave me in good stead to change my mind at a later stage. Any advice??

French would be good to keep as any second language is a valuable asset to any company in this day and age.
You say you might want to do archaeology, so keeping history would be beneficial.
So that leave English Literature. Who really needs this anyway, unless you want to teach the subject or do something job related to this. As long as you have English Language, I'd say drop the EL.
I think it depends on what degree you are going to do and which university you want to do it at. Do you need 3 A grades to get into your first choice? If so I would do the three subjects in which you are most likely to get an A (keeping History as that relates most directly to your degree). If you only need say 1 A and 2 Bs you can afford to keep French over one of the others.
I think Art A level is credible. The UCAS points are the same. If you're going to study fine art or design at university you'll have to do a one year foundation course first. Entry is then based more on the strength of the portfolio you've built up rather than A level grades (but you won't need this if you do History of Art)
Art would be very useful in history and archaology too.
Much of history is discovered through art - cave paintings, wood cuts, murals, tapestrys, portraits etc.
and for archaology, whenever an item is found, they often draw it as a reconstruction or paint how it would have looked, its surrounding area, peoples clothing etc
