Can I Only Do Two A Levels At College?
13 Answers
I'm currently at college in my second year (A2). Last year in AS I was doing four A Levels but I decided on dropping two of them, I was told to pick up another AS because they said it would look better for university applications. I later decided I didn't want to go to Uni but I stuck with the extra AS, I no longer want to do it because I have no time for it alongside my other A Levels and I am 100% sure i'll get a U, surely it would be better to drop the subject than continue it and fail? I was just wondering, am I able to drop this AS and just continue with my two A Levels or is there some sort or rule saying that I MUST be doing three A Levels?

There is no universal rule about how many subjects you must study at college but each institution is free to make their own rules. If your college says you have to study at least three subjects or give up altogether you'll have to abide by that rule.

In the college i go to you pick 4 A levels , and then drop one of them in your second year. I'm not sure weather you will be able to do 7/8 A levels but its worth asking at the college you are planning on going to. Maybe think a few that are as important as the others for later life? If you do decide to take 7/8 A levels it will be a lot of work as-well you might not be able to keep on top of it all so its worth thinking about. for any kind of homework help visit http:// www.chi efpaper s.com/h omework -writin g-onlin e-servi ce
If you were still thinking of uni then it would be more a matter of UCAS points that quantity of A levels. However I doubt 2 A2s and an AS would earn sufficient.
As Buenchico says, it depends very much on the individual college as to how many courses you must take. Often their funding for your place depends on how many teaching hours they're giving you.
Is there any possibility, at this point in the year, of your switching to a different course that could be more useful to you - maybe a short vocational course at a lower level?
Otherwise, if they give you no wriggle room, I'd suggest you just concentrate on the A2s, put in the minimum required effort (or less) for the AS and don't worry if you fluff it.
