All my working life was revolved around banter, as I bet ,was Baldric's even in times of stress or danger. It is a great safety valve.
I am sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis re cancer. Please believe me it is not the big bogey it used to be. I was diagnosed almost a year ago to the day with sigmoid cancer of the colon. Had the op on 28th Oct 2014 on a Monday and was in my local 6 days later on the Sunday with my family enjoying a pint which I well needed. :-) Just finished chemo 3 weeks ago and although had it's ups and downs I still have a pulse and am off on holiday to Malta today. The oncology teams are incredible and so are the support nurses. Be totally positive, keep your sense of humour and commit to beat it and DO as YOU ARE TOLD TO THE LETTER. It can be beaten but your own approach to it helps..Good luck and drive safe. :-)

Thanks Baths. Always love Malta. A Marmite Island. Had to cancel last year because of the diagnosis after wife had booked. The compassionate travel Insurance company refused to pay out a bean even though my doctor said she thought I was fit to travel and hadn't ,at that stage, discovered I had cancer.Oh well AXA insurance lost my custom. :-)
