New Career Path Advice - Legal Secretary
7 Answers
I have worked as a medical secretary, a clerical assistant and a Phlebotomist. I want a change from working in the hospital. I want to do legal secretary work. I have no experience. What do i need to do to get my foot in the door? Is 35 years too old for this job? What courses would i need to attend?
I want to work really hard to make a good future for my children. I am determined to make this work, and willing to undertake any courses/training necessary.
I wanted to study towards Paramedic Sciences, but in my current situation, this is not practical and sensible, as a single parent.
Thanks in advance for the advice

At the age of 58 she was made redundant, so went temping to take her through to retirement. An early placing was with a firm of solicitors; they liked her so much they pleaded with her to stay with them and agreed to her terms of a 3-day week and the whole of June off for holiday.
You couls always try temping as a way to get experience and get your foot in the door.
