My son has got a place at university to do a three year policing degree. Tuition fees alone are £9000 per year. He has always been shy/ quiet and extremely hard work to have a conversation with. I cant for the life of me see him being a policeman. He feel that he might be making a mistake but dont want to hurt his feelings. Does it take a certain type of person to be a policeman? Am I worrying needlessly?
I have been thinking about this and just read johnny37's post.
If your son is quiet, shy and finds it hard to engage in conversation the Police is NOT the right option for him, going on with this degree is just going to cost a lot of money for nothing. You need to encourage him to look for another option.
On reflection, Eddie is correct. He needs to find something a lot less onerous. You will be doing him a favour by explaining this to him. Have you/he tried googling 'apprenticeship". Good luck.
