I really want to be a drama teacher in a secondary school when I am older.

What A Levels would be good to take and where is the best place to go after that?

Look at www.tda.gov.uk which has all the info on routes into teaching.  I guess English and Drama would be good A-levels as they will build your subject knowledge.

The following A levels would be useful.- Drama/theatre studies, art/design, social psycology, media studies. It is not always easy to study Engish alongside drama - Drama students and English students can look at the same piece of text in a very different way.

Your best bet would be to get first degree in drama / theatre studies and get some experience in acting and directing. Unfortunatly Drama teachers are not in short supply so they will be looking for commitment / passion / experience as well as accademic qualifications.

Good Luck!

www.tda.gov.uk  sorry Grimalkin i like writinthings like that, but i guess i shouldn't b awnserin coiz i'm only 9

Take whatever A levels you enjoy, and are likely to get good grades in. One of them should be drama/theatre studies/english. Universities will accept you so long as you have the grades they require, and /or can show that you have been involved in a lot of drama/theatre productions at school/out of school etc. Theatre studies A level didn't exist at my school, but I was still accepted onto a Drama, Film and TV course because I had so much experience with drama in my free time.

Your grades will be more important to the University. Then you will need to do a PCGE after your degree- a one year teaching qualification, in secondary education. I also did one of them.

P.S forgot to mention- you will need to do an audition to get onto any drama degree, even if you want to teach eventually and not act. Your audition will be your ticket onto the course too.
