Alternative Schooling Options For Middle School Daughter?
3 Answers
Hi! My daughter has been dealing with extreme anxiety for her entire life, and more recently depression. She gets really anxious around people and has trouble making and sticking with friends. For the most part, she's been very happy over the summer so far. However, she told her therapist that a few nights ago she was thinking about going back to school and was very depressed, even cried herself to sleep. We've decided that public school might be a bit of an issue. Me homeschooling her would be out of the question unfortunately. Does anyone know of any alternative options for my daughter and I? (I am a divorced American mother of two children and I work normal shifts at work, so we will need to find something that works within our schedule.)

Any isolation will not help your daughter in the long term. May I suggest you contact the Anxiety and Depression Association of America who should be able to give you professional advice. www.adaa.org/living-with-anxiety
