I'm liking some of these replies :-)

I gave him the boot as he doesn't clean all of the windows, he's not very thorough and last month didn't visit at all as 'no one' wanted their windows cleaned in our road. Well I flipping well wanted mine done but didn't get a say in the matter.

he probably knew the reason why.

FIL's window-cleaner , oh, don't get me started.
The only time I've ever seen him attempt a decent job is when I'm there and he's arrived to clean the windows. (window-cleaner, not FIL)
Don't like the window-cleaner, he was rude to me once over at my house where he used to clean next door, so problem solved, will stick to other local firm.

I've tried closing and re-opening the Windows all to no avail :-(
