Scam Caller Keeps Calling Back!
17 Answers
I had a call from India (well she had Indian accent! Asking for me saying she was internet security. I said I wasn’t interested and clicked the phone off. Four times she rang straight back and when I told her not to do it again, she just kept saying “Stop! This is a genuine call”. I have had no problem with my computer. Is this a new tactic? I have now stopped answering.

In my case it was a 'gentleman' telling me I was about to lose my internet. I told him, politely, but in no uncertain terms, to stop talking such rubbish and to stop trying to con, the mainly pensioners, who were at home at that time of the day - mid afternoon. He then came out with a string of obscenities that I will not repeat on this site. Like you encountered Carole, he rang back four times, repeating the obscenities each time. I told him to keep on talking, or shouting at me, because the longer he was on my line, that was one less person he was trying to con. Seriously thinking now of installing a call blocker!
"I'm phoning about your Windows."
"Are you? I'm so pleased to hear that - I've got plenty of issues with dirty windows. There are 46 of them to be cleaned so I'm delighted to find a cleaner. Rates, shall we say £2.80 an hour plus lunch, say jugged hare or pulled pork and a half pint of cider thrown in."
That usually sees the back of them.

>When you bought your computer did you give out your phone >number, if you bought internet security did you give out your phone >numbers?
Even if the poster did give out their phone number no computer company is going to ring them at home !
I told one of these scammers to "F" off a week or so back and he swore at me, called me a Barst@d

When I'm in the right mood, I LOVE receiving these calls.
Don't get angry with them - that will just egg them on even more.
I've dealt with these in LOTS of different ways, but one that usually ends up with them hanging up, is telling them that I work for Virgin technical dept and asking them to explain in full detail what the problem is.
On another occasion, I was pretending to follow his instructions as he "helped" cure my "virus", Part way through, I started screaming at him, "what have you done to my laptop .... there's a picture appearing on my screen". He said he hadn't done anything, then I proceeded to describe the picture and told him that it looks like a banana boat. I then told him that some words were appearing below the picture which read, "do you think I came in on the last *** banana boat". I asked him what it meant ..... his reply .... "One minute, I'm googling it".
I nearly peed myself lol :P
They usually get bored before I do :)
