Working outdoors in the rain

Question on behalf of my partner.

Is there any Health and Safety laws regarding outdoor work and weather conditions like too much sun, too cold or too wet.

I heard mutterings of "no longer than 4 hours in the rain". I'd like to know as I have been working under a downpour for what seems forever. I am starting to feel it through to my bones and I can't seem to warm up in the evenigns anymore if that makes sense to anyone.

I am unaware of a law per se. The bulk of the information I found on the HSE website - here - with regard to working outside covers the employers need to assess possible risks and to give advice on minimising those risks. This seems especially true of exposure to heat and cold however I could not seem to find much in relation to working in the rain.
