Jobs as a drivers?
Apart from the obvious jobs - taxi driving, driving instructors, couriers - what other driving jobs are there?
I'd love to get a job driving for a living - any ideas?
Do the police have specific jobs as drivers or do you have to be an all round police person?
We are talking cars not HGV's !

There are plenty of firms which require vehicles delivered to showrooms, auctions, rental depots, etc. e.g. car hire firms, who operate a 'collect it here, drop it there' facility, need drivers to get their cars back to base. Specialist vehicle delivery agencies work, on behalf of leasing companies, collecting cars which have been leased as 'company cars' and taking them to auction. One of the best paid jobs, if you can get it, is working for a firm like Jaguar leasing, delivering cars to dealerships.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but my friend and his brother (both Dutch) have worked for a company like Hertz, driving cars around to where they're needed. So, if you hire a car in Birmingham but you're allowed to return it in London, but it's actually needed next in Liverpool, they'll drive it back from London to Liverpool. Mind you, I used English cities - they've worked all over Europe. I guess British firms have a similar sort of job profile.
Good luck - and remember to take out good health and life insurance! :-)
The Police (though not all forces) have civillian drivers. They are called driver orderlies. Some have their prisoners on the streets picked up by civvy drivers.
Failing that what about PPS or Group 4 prison drivers. They transport prisoners from Police to Court, or Court to Prisons all over the country.
