If you went out on a date (a few drinks or whatever) and the lady offered to pay, would you let her?
Back in the day I wouldn't but now I think that I would. Why not? Equality and all that!
Ive come across some women who seem offended that they are seen as less than able to pay their way. (Feminism I guess)
Been pictures this afternoon with a 'lady friend'...I paid. During one of the trailers she mentioned that she would like to see it. I said so would I...but she'd have to pay.
She said yes of course she would but the underlying feeling was one of shouldn't *I* pay?
Why do we have this idea that the male should pay for everything?

Any woman who goes out with me (tall, slim, elegant, handsome, charming, debonnaire, youthful, witty, intelligent and modest with it too) should damned well pay for the privilege as far as I'm concerned!

I take it you went to see the remake, nailit. I found the original to be a decent enough film. Mind you, i think King wrote the screenplay for that one or at least had a hand in it.
To answer your question, if i have paid for a first date, i would certainly expect the lady to at least chip in on the 2nd date.

My expectation prior to meeting Mr Cal was to go Dutch on more or less everything, but not in a way where it was very obvious, so someone would buy tickets and I'd buy food or whatever and equal it out like that. When I met Mr Cal we did that in the same way most places but anywhere super pricey he'd pay for and not expect me to as he was aware I wouldn't be able to keep up with him comfortably and that it would make things strained and awkward for me. Now we're permanently together we have a joint account and everything comes out of that we do as a family, but normally in this day and age I think women should go 50/50 when dating.
