Is it a good idea to study Law in U.K. and practice it elsewhere?

i.e. China/Hong Kong/Canada

I think you would be better directing this question to lawyers in the countries where you might like to practice. It would depend if the law here would be relevant over there, and how well they recognise UK qualifications.

If you qualify in one country and want to practice in another usually you have to do a further exam, and sometimes on the job training as well. It depends on the country concerned and how much of an overlap there is.


I used to work for a Cayman law firm and the lawyers from the Caymans could practice in England, but only as a registered foreign lawyer (i.e. they could not advise on points of English law).
