Hi everyone! I'm applying now for my German visa and my university-issued me my admission letter but they have not mentioned that when my semester will start, they only wrote

"it is planned to offer the in-classroom teaching in the summer semester 2021 at University of Siegen. Please use this letter of admission to apply for visa in order to arrive in Germany as of 01 April 2021 "

Now I want to write them an email and want to request them to issue me a new letter with my enrollment number and semester starting date. I wrote an email and i want you to please proofread read my email.

Here's how I'd write it:

"Dear [use name, rather than 'Madam', if known],

I understand that, in order to apply for my visa to study in Germany, I'm required to provide an admission letter which mentions the date when the summer semester will commence and which also shows the details of my enrolment.

I would be grateful if you could provide me with such a letter, in order that I can complete my visa application.

I offer my thanks in anticipation of your kind assistance in this matter"

HOWEVER . . . I think that the reference to 1 April 2021 in the existing letter provides the date that you're seeking anyway, as that's the official start of the summer semester at the University of Siegen:

So it seems somewhat pointless to me to ask about it!

At this point in time start dates may not be known due to the virus.

I would suggest that they have stated 1st April to give a no earlier than date. I would suspect that they won't give you a different date as nothing can be confirmed just now.
