Came home from London for holidays and self tested positive when he got here onto the Island. We were all supposed to meet up tonight as well.
I’m glad he self tested or we all would have been exposed. It shows that personal responsibility can restrict this dreadful virus somewhat.
Pity he didn’t test before he left London.

What Island are you on - just being nosey!
David's on the Isle of Wight, Wolfie, where the time is approximately 1710 at the moment . . . and that's the year!

The Isle of Wight wolf63. Not nosey, just inquisitive.
I agree with your point about the importance of self-testing, David. I've been doing LFTs twice a week for the past 8 months but I'd do an additional one now too if I was expecting to meet up with others.

I say….steady on Chris. We do have phone boxes, not many though.
How many people will be isolating because of his bad timing in testing ?
You've got phone boxes?
I don't think that we have any phone boxes left.

At least your nephew was sensible enough to take the test when he got back home - it is amazing how fast Covid spreads. This new(ish) variant Omiwhatsit spreads really quickly and, whether it is a dangerous strain or not, that is a little worrying.

Friend of mine recently done 3 (home) tests after persistant cough and feeling really unwell. All negative.
Went to a centre and tested positive.

How does that work then?
LFT tests don't work if you have symptoms, PCR needed.
gold star for Dafydd's nephew

far too much travelling and bustling when people think they may be ill
Felt really unwell, not in hospital, panic over.

//LFT tests don't work if you have symptoms//
So why have LFT tests then if they dont work?
Dont get it?
Genuienly dont get it?
if, for instance, you're going to the Isle of Wight to see people and you want to check if you've got anything you might infect them with, even though you feel fine?
Take an LFT before going to School/Uni/Bar/Party etc.
I feel fine.
The test dont work.
AND?
Why take a test if they dont work.....
What part of they dont work (your words, not mine) are you not understanding?
They don't always give an accurate result if you have symptoms.
Apparently they work if you don't have symptoms
