We Want Your Input!
36 Answers
Dear AnswerBank Community,
Firstly, I wanted to thank you for the enormous amount of patience and tolerance you have all shown since I introduced myself back in January 2022 as the new owner of The AnswerBank.
Since January, I have been working with the team behind the scenes to plan our next steps, whilst listening to and observing the community. I can confirm our intention is to move forwards with a programme of works to improve The Answerbank in the coming months.
Before we do, we wanted to reach out to the community to get your input on some of the improvements we’re considering and to get your honest feedback and views; what better way to do that than using AnswerBank itself to gather that feedback.
To that end, I can confirm that some of our Editors will be posting some polls and questions to help gather feedback in the coming weeks and months so that we can include your views in our development roadmap. Now is a great time for you to share your views as to how we can make The AnswerBank a better place to share and socialise online.
I look forward to reading your responses.

Did you just want feedback on the proposed improvements you're going to tell us about - or did you also want our views on how we think AnswerBank might be improved? Could you please clarify?

Thanks all. Yes, just to clarify, we're going to be running separate polls on a range of features/functionality we are proposing to introduce for specific feedback. However, we're always keeping an eye out for new ideas, and we'll be watching this thread among existing ones carefully; so if you do have ideas, please do share.
1. Cut out the moving adverts which have such a deleterious affect on performance.
2. Bring on a Preview feature which, on execution prior to posting, displays a processed image to the poster who then has the option to edit (with a further Preview obviously) or post it as it stands.
When properly implemented, the Preview feature allows the poster to check that URLs and formatting are working, and also shows whether any auto-censorship has been activated. It is also a final opportunity to check for typos, and most important of all(!) to possibly reflect whether they really want to say that. A simple feature which solves several flaws at one stroke. Note that it is essential for all "mechanisms" within the post to be executed before presenting the Preview. Other forum sites have achieved this wonderful feature, so come on Answerbank, catch up with the others.

//Please could we have two buttons - one to take you to the first answer in the post, and another to take you to the last answer in the post? //
That seems pointless, windy. The pages are numbered. One click takes you to first or last page - and all pages in between - so why the need to click separate buttons?
