Feeling Angry, Frustrated And Not In Control
23 Answers
Little Tigs has been picked and bullied for a while now and no matter what I say to the SENCO, his mentor tutor or head of year the bullying continues. There are a number of children who keep harassing him both verbally and sometimes physically like stepping on his shoes. He started out really well in school with all his subjects but has gone progressively downhill as I feel it's affecting his mental health. He doesn't have any friends and the girl he was friends with isn't talking to him anymore.
I'm going to have to speak to the head this time to see what can be done but I'm just so upset and angry with all the children who are nasty to him. What is wrong with them?? I hate bullies! I wish they would crawl under a stone...

If Leo played with a boy she didn't like she would un friend him and tell the other boys not to play with him. Head sorted it by calling girls mother in to watch what went on in playground. Hasn't happened since. But school is small private one
Arh Tiggs reading this I feel so angry too, bullying is the worst thing ever, hopefully remove the ‘leader’ and the rest will fall into line , you must tell the head teacher if something isn’t done you higher to the board of Governors to tell them bullying is going on and you won’t tolerate it , good luck
Big big problems in schools just now about bullying it needs o be sorted. Parents of young boy that took his own life we’re on the news this morning. Shocking what was happening to him. Lots of it on social media to as was happening to him. There is going to be a program on tv about it can’t remember when they said it would be on.
OMG that's awful, Giggsie! I've heard about cases like this a few times now.
How do you stop bullies doing what they do though? They had anti-bullying week not so long ago but it still continues. I've told him to ignore these idiots and maybe they will leave him alone but that obviously hasn't worked.

That's awful and particularly so as he has autism and ADHD.
Children are such little savages when they spot an individual who is a little bit different.
School should be more pro-active, I think. My experience with my own children and with grandchildren is that the more "pushy" the parent is, the faster and more efficiently the school will react.
Threaten to expose the school for not adhering to their anti bullying policy (all schools have them these days). Emphasise your child's autism and ADHD issues, and stress to the teachers that your child is classed as vulnerable, yet he is being made to suffer on their watch.
It's not good enough. school need to be made to take notice and to take action.

Honestly, I'd move him if you can or remove him from school until they can provide a safe environment for him somewhere else.
It doesn't stop, it might get better sometimes and then worse again and in the meantime it has a devastating affect on his self esteem and mental health.
I have no idea how in this day and age there is still no effective solution to bullying within schools.

Young lass (14) round our way apparently committed suicide yesterday because she was being bullied. I don't know any more detail than that so i can't elaborate as to what sort of bullying took place but i do know she had recently 'come out' as a lesbian? Whether that had anythng to do with the bullying, time will tell.
