I’m in a local FB food group where everyone was chatting about what they roughly spend a week on grocery shopping, and the amounts vary so much!! There were people who swear blind they cannot get their bill down below £100 and that’s for 2 people and a dog, and all toiletries, cleaning products etc, and then there were people who reckon that that can feed a family of 4 on £20 a week!!
I know it depends where you shop, what you cook, if you bulk buy etc but mine is always around £75 for 2 adults, 2 cats and all cleaning/toiletry items, give or take £7 or £8. Ive started to do a lot of batch cooking , making 7/8 portions of something at a time and putting them in the freezer. (And I shop online with Morrisons who then deliver).
So I’m just curious as what everyone else spends roughly?

the people who spend 20 on the weekly probally get about four or five takeaway meals in the week elsewhere all in i would say for two people no pets 60 a week should do fine but some weeks it might be only 40 and others it might be 80 tyou sont have to buy loo roll every time but when you do that is nearlly 10 if not more depending how many rolls same with alcohol pack of beers what 10 as well but they might last two or three weeks
Around about £125 per week for two on food only. Other things, shampoo, cleaning items, loo roll etc £50. Per week.
depends whats for dinner lol steak is like 10 for two sirloins these days so if you had that every day that is 70 on just meat for 7 days

I guess £50 a week for me, no dog now (sadly)

One odd thing I've started going. I have a shower most days but only use shampoo once a week or after I've done something sporty.
£125 2 adults, 2 dogs, 3 cats - that is everything including take outs and booze
About £100 2 adults 1 cat

See it does vary quite a bit. I guess I do top up salad bits in week and the odd drink.
//or after I've done something sporty.//

you devil, you!
About £70-80 every ten days (Tesco or Sainsbury's delivered) - includes everything except butcher-meat and fruit/veg which are delivered separately. The cost of the latter two can vary, depending on what purchased - ? around £30 or so.
I can eat for about 3 or 4 quid a day - but drink...
^^ Liquid lunches ?
Mind yer own business :-J

What do you drink Dave?

Thanks Ken, lol…….
About £125 a week including the booze, although I did order £100 of cider from Sandfords last week as we rarely go out now.

It's a bit lower at the moment as we are eating the garden produce (and some of my brothers allotment)
I don't do it but husband claims he spends about £120 a week for 2 adults and 2 cats,. That is for food and cleaning products and does always include unnecessary extras such as flowers, ice-cream and chocolate etc.
About £180 + For 3 people plus cat
//What do you drink Dave?//

What have you got? LOL

Prudie - where does he do the shopping?

Dave - as long as it’s wet then?? Lol
Tesco Smow. It's the only local big supermarket in Dorchester. There is a small Waitrose, Coop and Lidl but they aren't big enough for a weekly shop. It would need a 30 minute drive to Weymouth or Poole to even
find a Morrisons, Sainsbury, Asda or Aldi.
