Scottish Power £5 Admin Charge

I have just had an email regarding my direct debit payments and there is a message saying that if they are unable to collect the direct debit on the agreed date they may apply a £5 admin charge as per the terms and conditions. I have never heard of this before. Does it mean that if the 1st of the month falls on a weekend and they cannot collect my DD until the Monday they will apply a £5 admin fee?
I have no control over this process so it would seem very unfair.

No it probably means if you do not have sufficient funds there will be a charge

calmck is correct, an admin charge if they try to collect the DD but not enough in the bank.
The majority of companies have this policy with some charging much more than a fiver

Also if your payment date is due on a weekend then the payment will be taken on the Monday or Tuesday if it is a bank holiday as they cannot take it in advance of the due date. There is no extra charge for this so no admin fee.

no it means if it bounces, DD dates are automatically adjusted for weekends and BHs.

oh and if it bounces your bank will also charge you, probably £25.
