For the past 3 months my boss has been gradually getting lazier and lazier, he moans constantly about minor things, and spends the majority of his time on the computer looking at ebay, he is not doing his job at all, he has a poor attitude and is constantly swearing at the staff aswell as ignoring them and customers. He passes all of his work on to me and my colleagues and then is making out he's doing everything himself to the company owner.

I have had practically every member of staff complain about him to me and also customers have started to notice his poor attitude.

What is the best course of action to take? Should i speak to him first or should i go straight to the owner of the company?

Probably best to complain to the owner but you must have specific complaints with evidence to back it up otherwise it could look as if you just have a grievance against him and the owner probably appointed him, this could backfire on you.

Otherwise you must have a company complaints procedure to follow and if not ask your boss! An anonymous tip off to the owner might be appreciated by him and complaints from customers could stir things up.
