Joy As Post Office Pay-Outs Begin – Courtesy Of Private Eye
3 Answers
There was wide-spread joy among long-suffering sub-postmasters still waiting for justice a decade after they were wrongly accused of fraud.
This came at the news that huge Post Office pay-outs had begun in the form of bonus payments to its senior management.
‘You have no idea what a relief it is, having lost my job, my family and my home after being found guilty of a crime I did not commit, to hear that these massive payments to senior management have begun’ – said one broken sub-postmaster eating a cold tin of beans in his freezing bedsit.
‘We know that dad would be delighted the big money has finally started to be doled out by the Post Office to itself’ – said the family of another innocent sub-postmaster who took his own life.
A Post Office spokesman said it was determined to get the huge six-figure bonus payments out as soon as possible to those members of senior management who need it the most, hoping that it will make their lives a little easier when they jet out to their holiday homes in Provence this summer.
