In the wake of our Home secretary's controversial speech in New York a few days ago it would seem Sweden is now realising that immigration and diversity is not working there either.
We were always led to believe that Sweden was always immigrant friendly and a very hospitable tolerant nation. What went wrong? If things are so bad that the military are being enlisted to help out the police for terrorism or bomb attacks what have the government done wrong
According to the link it would seem the rest of Europe are experiencing problems also.

Very sad Retro. Largely down to a clash of cultures. The large number of Finns and Poles tend to get on with it, but in recent years, the huge number of Syrians, Iraqis, Serbians, is largely the problem. They migrate to ghettos, many of them making no attempt to even learn the language despite Government sponsored classes for Arabic speakers.
The usual problem of migrating to inner city areas of Sweden's main cities. Malmö is one of the worst. There's a huge area in the centre of the city (Rosengård) that's been the scene of a lot of violence. It'll take years for them to become properly 'domesticated', probably through their children growing up there having known no other home.
The result of the Authorities underestimating the difficulties of cultural integration, and immigrants failing to understand the massive cultural differences.
Winters can be pretty hard going even in the south. It'll be the kids who'll eventually settle and integrate. But it'll take time.
Thanks David.
Nordic societies are very welcoming. Sweden has had an enviable reputation for years for industry and innovation. It's social model is pretty much admired too, if perhaps a little naive for our tastes.
A fifth of the population (2 out of 10 million) were born elsewhere. So yes. Ghetto creation.
As for diversity, the US is possibly one of the best examples, but it's taken them over two hundred years. 🙂
