Should we be worried or very worried?

Jumped? It was given a helping hand.

Aye, we should.

Quick, shut the country down and inject us with summat.

as the .gov note says, the patient has had prolonged contact with infected birds. if the surveillance into the patient's recent contacts evidences human to human transmission, that's the time to worry.

Must be the lockdown and ineffective face mask time of year then.

That's for the birds !

It is not the first time it has happened:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/human-case-of-avian-flu-detected-in-england#:~:text=Bird%2Dto%2Dhuman%20transmission%20of,continues%20to%20be%20very%20low.

"UKHSA has confirmed a case of influenza A(H5N1) in a person in the West Midlands region. Bird-to-human transmission of avian influenza is rare and has previously occurred a small number of times in the UK."

Well I wont be wearing a stupid mask or isolating for anyone.

Best not to get in a flap about it.

bird flu ?

are we still allowed to call it that ?

pretty waitresses and all that !!!

it's a bit sexist

but not as bad as man flu

^^Haha. We will need a gay flue or a trans flue or else there will be rights demonstrations.  The selfish Spanish had one all to themselves. Not allowed in these inclusivity at all cost times though.

jumpiness

depends on how jumpy - ( plague, black rat, v v jumpy: oolie-boolie haemorrhagic disease in Gomboolaland , 5 deaths in the last 100y  - not very jumpy)

Porton Down will tell you. I go with  not very jumpy but then I worked there so who is going to listen to me?

OK Marburg disease, then

We will need a gay flue

oh, dont kiss any bIrds then, nice to see this is taken seriously by the usual suspects.

I demand a lockdown.

Got plenty of bog roll and pasta already 😁

I'm a bloke so I'm fine 😁

Happens intermittently elsewhere in the world.  Far more concerned about its impact on wild bird populations.

Don't touch dead birds, report large numbers of sick or dying birds ( ? To Defra,  I can check it anyone needs to know)

Don't touch dead birds

you shouldnt be touching dead cattle ( in the field) - anthrax
