I am involved in a employment dispute where the other party's solicitor is acting on no win no fee basis. Their professional conduct is appalling. They fail to honor their word. They have made a case out of nothing and are keen to keep on draging it for the last few months. Meanwhile i am left with mounting legal bills. How can i make a complaint about a solicitor?

It sounds to me as if the solicitor is doing exactly what he's paid to do: i.e. to solely represent the interests of his client irrespective of the effect on anyone else. (Any solicitor who has any consideration whatsoever for the opposing side has, in my opinion, no right to be in the legal profession). Personally, I'd like to congratulate him for what he's doing!

If you really believe that you've got good cause to complain about him, here's your link:

If you are in England or Wales, Civil Procedure Rules are that parties have to co-operate, specifically dragging on the case for ages to make life hard for the other party is not on. The Court would take a dim view of this. If this is a court case, theoretically, the Court could strike out the case if the other party is behaving so unreasonably. If it is tribunal, unfortunately I don't know. If you have a solicitor working for you, s/he should be the person to advise you. If you are a litigant in person, you could try the Law Society for advice. Alternatively a Law Centre (ask a CAB to refer you to one).
