has anyone done or benefitted from a distance learning course from companies like ICS - do the qualifications count for anything?- do employers/organisations recognise them?

i phoned them once and got a strong sales pitch "places are limited but im going to try to see if we can fit you in" - yeah as if.. hence my suspicions

My friend took a nail and beauty course with a home learning package and now she owns her own salon! hope this helps. Try it, whats to loose (other than the stupid amount they charge you for the phone call in the first place!)

I did a Management course for about a year but haven't found any real benefit of it yet, but I'm hoping it'll be the sort of thing that looks quite good on a CV when it comes to applying for something else!

That said, I found ICS in particular VERY slow at processing my qualification at the end, and I had to wait around five or six months after finishing the course before I heard anything at all, so I probably wouldn't do anything through them again.
