Eager to get a new job

I'm currently looking for a new job, I am currently a manufacturing manager at a small engineering company in wiltshire. I have ONC, HNC in engineering. I am not happy with the management side of my job. I would be interested in acquiring a job where i can travel around the country visiting companies or people and maybe problem solve or investigate issues. I understand nearly all travelling jobs are sales based and sales is NOT what i want to do. I am even thinking of avoiding the engineering side of the job and using my attitude/organisational skills etc to perform outside of my qualified area (engineering) I am also interested in costing and estimating. Can anyone suggest or does know of a job which may suit me?

Basically i'm keen to use my skills to get out and meet people, solve problems, customer liase etc.

What about becoming a construction estimator. You would get to travel visiting potential sites and clients and your engineering skills are probably transferrable to this industry?
