There is a rumour that a guy at my work won the lottery and now just works here for fun. If you won the lottery would you stay at work? or would you be too bored at home not to work?

People REALLY work for fun?? If I won a substantial amount I would give up work intially to free up my time for shopping, holidays etc.

In the longer term, yes I probably would get bored so may get a voluntary job or a part-time job to keep me occupied.

History seems to suggest that those who enjoy their work are happiest sticking to a comfortable routine if they win they lottery. Much of what vast amounts of money can purchase is ephemeral if it doesn't add spiritual value to your life as a person. But the best advice of all to any large lottery winner is to glue your lips firmly closed and keep your secret to yourself. There are ways of sharing your money around to special people without broadcasting it from the rooftops. Even families have been torn apart by greed or jealously when they think, just because they're relatives they're automatically entitled to a share of somebody else's winning cake..

you may of heard on radio 5 last week that a lady from the midlands won 1.5 million and has kept it a secret from her husband for a few years, apparently he had a small drug problem and she thinks he might of gone of the straight & narrow, on your point its what dreams are made of it does depend on age/family ties etc but i would give up work even tho good job etc but would like to think i could put something back into society be it financially/helping out to those less fourtunate
he's taking a job from someone who really needs it
Surely he has a right to work regardless of how much money he has. There are thousands our folk out there who cannot be bothered!
I think I wouldnt work for a long time but I would start my own business which I would have a hand in on a regular basis doing the very thing that I do now - but this time I would be in charge and own it.
I would not do another day's work in my life. People who say they would get bored do not have enough interests to sustain them. I have got so many hobbies and interests that I would never get tired. I do magic for a hobby, so I would pursue that, maybe having lessons from the best pro's in america. That is just one hobby out of lot's.
