Please help me get this job...
I recently had an interview at university, and was rejected last week (I'm gutted). Normally, I'm really confident and I know I'd have been fine if only I wasn't interviewed as a group- it was the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I'm determined to get into the university next year.
There was a girl I really got on with at the interview, who already has a job in the profession. She will have to leave this if she is accepted (which she will be as she was fab) and has said she will put in a good word for me to apply for it. I'm desperate for this job as it should help me get into uni (I'd love it even if I didn't).
I'm poo at covering letters/ CVs, so can any of you give me any tips for both please? I need them to know that they need me :-))
Do you think it would help me to send my CV in with a written reference, as opposed to just contact details, as my previous employer will be lovely about me?
Thanks so much in advance for any help x

Its pretty good by my standard, though its American so the spelling is all over the place and avoid saying your naturally suited to a job cos no one is.
Dont mention you want to go to uni in a year. I'd see this as an indictaion you weren't intending on making a serious go of it.
Was your interview at uni for a place on a degree course? If so, don't just give up - show them that you are serious and that you really want it. If there are no places left, reconsider your uni or try clearing. I had that initial problem but was determined to get in - I went to another uni, proved how committed I was and got straight in. 3yrs later and it's the best choice ive ever made.
What area are you in, and what subject do you want to study??
Hi aquadee, it's for a diplioma in Midwifery. I don't really have the option of going to another uni as there aren't many that do the course and I can't move away at the moment.
I'm hoping to apply again, and I have entered clearing, so who knows. In the mean time- I'd love this job though and it can't hurt if I was to apply for the course again, I don't think x
