does any one have experience of proof of evidence?

i am hoping to go to uni next year, as i have been studing different courses at home i can do what is called proof of evidence instead of doing an access course at college, can anybody advise of the ins and outs of proof of evidence please.

this means you have to show the uni your certificates from the home study courses, like if it is the OU your annual statement of qualifying modules i believe.
