I am 16 and I work Saturdays in a bakery with a staff of 9 people. I never had a contract when I began and I have now been there seven months. Roughly how much notice do you think I would have to give if I wanted to leave? If I were to leave it would mean I'd got another job and would need a reference. I know and average guess wouldn't necessarily apply to me or the company I work for but I was just looking for a rough guess.

I should think a week will do it, just write them a resignation letter and give it to you boss/ supervisor
The general rule is that if you are paid weekly you need to give a weeks notice and if you are paid monthly you need to give a months notice however as this is a Saturday job only you will probably be ok with a weeks notice.

how about if I'm paid every two weeks?
I'd give them a weeks notice but if they say it's not enough then amend it to two.
