lets say you have an exam at 9.30 tomorrow morning =, would it be better to stay up later and wake up later or go to bed earlier and wake up earlier, in regards to revision purposes.

Experience has let me to believe that if i had some work in the next day, say a piece of coursework the best idea would be to stay up late until its finished basically as if u go to bed and wake up early you may find out that you run out of time. which regards an exam its slightly different and perhaps in advisible to not get much sleep the night before

Hey Marky,

I think you should stay up late and make sure you cram in as much as you can. Then when you wake up tomorrow you know its taken care of really. Also you brain soaks up information better just before you sleep for some reason!

Definitely go to bed early as there's nothing worse than being tired on exam day. What you don't know tonight you won't know tomorrow. Get a good sleep.

have you no electricity?

Get a good nights sleep, and make sure you have a good breakfast. I dont think cramming is very good but if you must, do it before you go to bed. And good luck xxx Alison
The "right" answer seems to be go to bed early because you really need your sleep. BUT I feel that more revision and less sleep would work out better.

Sleep and no revision can't work, unless the answers magically come to you in your dreams.

seems as thous theres mixed opinions ovedr what i should do, really all rests on how much sleep i should get (hours wise) as i am planning to get up around 7.30 in the morning anyway, although in a perfect world i would know all the stuff anyway and wouldnt need to be staying up til the early hours to cram it in! i was planning to know it all by 2nite, and go to bed early (as its my last exam in my final year at uni) then its an all day **** up afterwards, so going to bed early would be giving me the most energy to last as long as possible into the evening

I've been studying right through the night, Marky. Getting a few hours sleep, but all the info seems to be rehearsing as I sleep, as when I wake up I can pretty much remember it all! :)
sleep with the book under your pillow, you brain might just absorb everything. yea, i wish it was that easy.

i would suggest cram tonight. you'll be nervous enough in the morning to remember anything. but i like studying last minute.
cram in the morning that way you can store some more info in your short term memory - it makes better use of all memory tools xxx
"Sleep and no revision can't work, unless the answers magically come to you in your dreams. "

I know it sounds crazy but when I revised for exams I didn't do it the night before exams (at the last minute).
From my experience and learning, its best to revise before sleep as info is processed during sleep. My technique is to revise till not too late then go sleep. Wake up at around 5 or 530, revise what u have left and go back to sleep until the time you need to get up. Tends to work quite well.
