What should I do persue this or not?

Last year in december, I had an interview and have been offered a work placement scheme at this film company, which starts in septrember this year, in which very much looking forward to.Then,last week the film company informed me to say that the scheme have been cancelled due to not"working out" ,vague reason I thought the question is,do I persue for explaination and suggest to work on three day basis part-time or forget about it? .

i would forget about it. they are not obliged to tell you anything.

i suspect this company decided to 'run a scheme' in order to get free labour - this happens a lot with film companies.

they could also be closing the company down

if you want to get work exp there are plenty of other companies you can try.

Not working out generally means they've run out of money.
