1.5 yrs ago i got in2 trouble with the police.ive got 3 convictions 4 abh.assault.and 2 for drink driving.i was stupid and goin fru alot of personal stuff at the time.no accuse i know.but ive turned over a new leaf dont drink or smoke anymore.ive jus become corgi registered plumber after 5 yrs and thinkin bout emmigrating to canada.im still banned from driving in the uk.i was wandering whether i cud get a driving licence over in canada.so i cud drive over there and not in the uk.and do u think i wud get in a country like canada with light convictions for abh.thankyou

have a read of this - you would presumably count as a skilled worker with the plumbing qualification. However you would need a police check to get into the country (police certificate) and i doubt whether they would be impressed with the criminal convictions and think this would seriously jepordise any attempt to gain residency there - crimes of violence and not just isolated incidents will probably be a bar to your entry

re driving - i have known people that are banned to drive in one country but able to drive in another, but don't know anything about canada's rules on this
