I am contemplating leaving my 9-5 job (�15K a year) for a one working shifts (�20K), I am not sure what to do, what would my take home pay be?

Take home pay would be around �1273 assuming you are a basic rate tax payer. Thi is after paying tax and National Insurance.

Further deductions may include pension contributions, union fees (or similar) as examples.

Shift work is demanding on your health and your social life, so think carefully especially if you enjoy your current job.
