Sandals
It been bugging me over the few years i have worked in the dept is the dress sense and the "gradual" trend that seems to be "evolving" amongst the age range. Sandals seem to be the preffered foot attire amongst collegues.I have nothing against this type of footwear and I'm sure it is very comfortable and popular. However there is one particular individual that has stood out amonst the staff. He tends to wear sandals on most days during the week, I have noticed a more disturbing aspect.. this being his preference for wearing the same pair of socks for several days at a time. The reason I am convinced they are the same pair is cause he seems to wear some rather dashing "Homer Simpson" socks. Now forgive me if I'm wrong but a grown man at the age of around mid to late 40's wearing sandals and "homer" socks clearly showing seems rather wrong if you ask me. I would dread to think what the poor children he fathers thinks of this extremely bad fashion mistake. To think he picks up his teenage children from out in the evening from hanging out with friends sporting a pair of brown sandals and cartoon socks..doesn't seem a right to me.
My main question is about the hygene issues on this subject, it distresses me slightly that his person is wearing the same pair of socks most of the working week, I maybe mistaken and he actually wears fresh socks everyday, but multiples of the same design. It worries me ever so slightly that this is a metamorphisis of staff becoming this way inclined from being in the same job, some of which for well over twenty years. Looking across the office right now there also seems a trend of lack of hair aswell. What does everyone else think?

none of this as any of your business.
these people are not clones of you nor are they your puppets - they do things their way
just because you get older doesn't mean you should forget a huge portion of your life - your childhood, your teens and your 20s and 30s.
just because you get older doesn't mean all the things you've loved for most of your life should suddenly be abandoned and "normal" things for your age should be adopted
i agree socks and sandals is not a good look, but your comments go deeper than merely a fashion issue.
and in case you hadn't noticed, the simpsons is aimed at adults, not children
get a life and stop try to control other peoples.
I'm 46, female. My boss is in his 30s. He cracks up when I turn up for work in my sandals and my Garfield or my Wallace & Gromit socks. Says he's going to report me to the fashion police. I've told him I'll do the same for him, 'cause his shirts are always inside out (they're supposed to be apparently).
Now get my husband. 51, six feet tall, size 12s. In the hot weather, he wears his shorts and sandals to work, paints his toenails and wears toe rings (he says, to wind up the various homophobic visitors they get in there). He also has a reputation for Pat Butcher style earrings. His colleagues have certified him a grade A loony and I don't think they'd have it any other way.
Workplaces can be miserable sometimes. We need the silly sock brigade to brighten them up and get the rest of us through the day.
It would all depend on the Companies dress code Scanning. If in his contract it reads that open sandals should not be worn at work, then it's up to Management to deal with it.
Anyway, he may have lots of packs of the same sox & nice smelling clean feet! Also, his children may look beyond his feet & love him to bits!
Have a lovely day!
