Small Firm or Top 10 in the City of London?
5 Answers
Morning Ab'ers,
Im a bit stuck at the moment. I have previously accepted an offer for a job with a small accountancy firm based in SW London. And Since then I had another interview with a top 10 accountancy based in the City, and am due for my 2nd interview later this week.
However the problem lies is do i have a contract with the small firm based in SW London? If im offered the job at the top 10 - can i still take up that job offer or will it be unacceptable??
Also the another problem is im due to start next Monday!! So time is running out.
Please can you advise me as im not sure where i stand at the moment.
Thanks in advance :)

Definately go for the top 10 job - you'll get better perks, holidays, staff nights out etc and a structured promotions scheme so you always know when you're up for your next raise!

If you were hired by the recruitment people push the responsibility onto them. Recruitment people won't have been paid until you've been in the job for a month (a valid placement) so the small company won't have lost any money if you change your mind. That's why they use recruitment companies in the first place, because if they had found you themselves they would have had to pay to advertise the job etc when if they use a company they only pay when the person is actually settled and right in the job... if that makes sense?
Good luck with the other interview mate.
