It takes about a year of concentrated, full-time study and it isn't cheap. I am a gardener but most of the time, despite belonging to a garden club, I find my arrangements look like my 5 year old grandson made them. Be aware that much of the work is not glamorous. YOu have to strip stems from flowers a lot, when making corsages (dozens for a prom), you can spend hours just wiring flowers, picking out stamens, etc. If, after deglam of what the work is really like and you are still interested, I suggest you join a garden club that can teach you basics for free. It will allow you to see if you have sort of a natural talent for it and a long-term interest. Pay in this business, as a newbie, is not so good but creative expression is rewarding.
